Red Cross supporters provide a beacon of hope. From helping during disasters and ensuring access to lifesaving blood, to providing training to save lives and supporting military communities, the Red Cross is there when help can’t wait.
The DOVES Program was founded in 1979 to provide support to victims of domestic violence in Scotts Bluff County. Since that time, our program has grown to assist victims of dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking as well. Today, the DOVES Program currently serves nine counties in Nebraska’s Panhandle: Scotts Bluff, Cheyenne, Morrill, Kimball, Banner, Box Butte, Dawes, Sheridan, & Sioux Counties.
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Scotts Bluff County is a non-profit organization whose volunteers serve as neutral parties in child abuse and neglect cases within our county court system. Appointed by the Judge, CASA volunteers advocate for the best interests of children and remain with each case until it is closed, ensuring the child is placed in a safe and permanent home.
Buckboard was established in 1997 by Kathy Gatch. She designed this organization to empower individuals through the strength, wisdom, and beauty of horses. "My love for horses and children as well as helping my son recover from a car accident inspired me to form this program so special needs children could experience the benefits and enjoyment that only a horse can give."
The Carpenter Center is a local nonprofit organization in Terrytown, around the Scottsbluff/Gering area of Nebraska! We work within the community to provide a multitude of programs to engage all ages in different activities. We offer much more than just programs. We have an on-site weight room, a standard-size gym, tumbling, indoor sports, after school care and more!
East Point Horspice received its non-profit 501(c)3 status in 2006, but this labor of love was many years in the making. Founded by Charlene and Brian Stephenson as a horse rescue, it became clear early on that these wonderful horses had so much yet to offer. From that realization, we developed the riding programs, horsemanship lessons, and equine assisted healing sessions, all with an emphasis on the human-horse relationship.
Lifespan Respite Program is a service designed to give caregivers a break from the demands of providing ongoing care for recipients with special needs unable to care for themselves. The Lifespan Respite Program provides funding for eligible unpaid primary family caregivers to purchase respite services.
Banisters Leadership Academy’s purpose is to provide motivation, mentoring, tutoring, and leadership development skills to all youth. Our focus is to design an academy where they can learn social, life, and leadership skills that they may use in their school life, home life, and other areas of life where they will need to overcome adversities. With your help, we can make a difference.
Camp provides a social and recreational program for developmentally disabled children/adolescents ages 7-21. Consists of one 5-week session (june and july) running monday-friday 9 to 2 p.m. activities include arts and crafts, living skills, music, swimming and canoeing, sports field trips, overnight camping and therapeutic horseback riding.
