Financial Security


Community Action Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center, one of 1,000 member of a national network of action agencies across America.  We are a non-profit community-based organization that serves low-income and those unable to meet their needs through other sources.

The Guadalupe Center is a vibrant recreation and education hub located in southeast Scottsbluff, Nebraska. It serves as a cornerstone for community engagement, offering programs that promote cultural heritage, lifelong learning, and physical wellness. The center often hosts educational workshops, youth activities, and recreational events designed to strengthen community ties and provide opportunities for personal growth.

Northfield Haven was created by local families and community partners to fill a critical gap in housing for individuals with I/DD in Western Nebraska. Here, residents can live independently without leaving the comfort of their hometown.

Scotts Bluff County Volunteer Center

Helping our community through programs such as Meals on Wheels & Shopping for Seniors. We also help Volunteers find placement and recruitment.

Community Resiliency


Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) are community volunteers who represents the best interests of abused and neglected children who are wards of the juvenile court.

PlainsWest CASA serves children of Cheyenne, Kimball and Deuel Counties.

The American Red Cross, through its strong network of volunteers, donors and partners, is always there in times of need.

Red Cross supporters provide a beacon of hope. From helping during disasters and ensuring access to lifesaving blood, to providing training to save lives and supporting military communities, the Red Cross is there when help can’t wait.

The DOVES Program was founded in 1979 to provide support to victims of domestic violence in Scotts Bluff County. Since that time, our program has grown to assist victims of dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking as well. Today, the DOVES Program currently serves nine counties in Nebraska’s Panhandle: Scotts Bluff, Cheyenne, Morrill, Kimball, Banner, Box Butte, Dawes, Sheridan, & Sioux Counties.

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Scotts Bluff County is a non-profit organization whose volunteers serve as neutral parties in child abuse and neglect cases within our county court system. Appointed by the Judge, CASA volunteers advocate for the best interests of children and remain with each case until it is closed, ensuring the child is placed in a safe and permanent home.

Healthy Community


Through the program, volunteers pack bags of food to be distributed among students in need who are nominated by school officials.

Buckboard was established in 1997 by Kathy Gatch. She designed this organization to empower individuals through the strength, wisdom, and beauty of horses. "My love for horses and children as well as helping my son recover from a car accident inspired me to form this program so special needs children could experience the benefits and enjoyment that only a horse can give."

 The Carpenter Center is a local nonprofit organization in Terrytown, around the Scottsbluff/Gering area of Nebraska! We work within the community to provide a multitude of programs to engage all ages in different activities. We offer much more than just programs. We have an on-site weight room, a standard-size gym, tumbling, indoor sports, after school care and more!

We believe that no one should ever go hungry. That's why a group of your local community leaders came together to tackle this issue once and for all. At the Community Table, all are welcome. And no one leaves hungry.

East Point Horspice received its non-profit 501(c)3 status in 2006, but this labor of love was many years in the making. Founded by Charlene and Brian Stephenson as a horse rescue, it became clear early on that these wonderful horses had so much yet to offer. From that realization, we developed the riding programs, horsemanship lessons, and equine assisted healing sessions, all with an emphasis on the human-horse relationship.

Nebraska Diaper Bank provides diapers through collaborative partnerships to change lives & empower families in need.

Lifespan Respite Program is a service designed to give caregivers a break from the demands of providing ongoing care for recipients with special needs unable to care for themselves. The Lifespan Respite Program provides funding for eligible unpaid primary family caregivers to purchase respite services.

Western Community Health Resources collaborates with communities in the provision of quality health and human services. Our vision for the members of our communities is that they are Respected, Informed, and Empowered.

The Scottsbluff/Gering Soup Kitchen provides free, nutritious meals to anyone facing food insecurity in our community. Partnering with local churches and organizations, it serves weekly dinners and special events, ensuring no one goes hungry while fostering a sense of care and connection.

Youth Opportunity


The Alliance Aftershock Softball Program is a nonprofit youth sports organization based in Alliance, Nebraska. Its mission is to provide girls ages 8–18 with opportunities to develop and improve their softball skills while fostering important character traits such as teamwork, sportsmanship, and leadership. The program emphasizes creating a positive environment where athletes can grow as competitors and individuals.

Through community support, volunteers, and professional staff, our mission is to put Christian principles into practice through affordable programs that build healthy body, mind, and spirit for all.

Banisters Leadership Academy’s purpose is to provide motivation, mentoring, tutoring, and leadership development skills to all youth. Our focus is to design an academy where they can learn social, life, and leadership skills that they may use in their school life, home life, and other areas of life where they will need to overcome adversities. With your help, we can make a difference.

Camp Scott offers a dynamic social and recreational program designed for children and adolescents with developmental disabilities, ages 7–21. The camp runs for one five-week session during June and July, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Participants enjoy a variety of engaging activities, including arts and crafts, life skills development, music, swimming, canoeing, sports, field trips, overnight camping, and therapeutic horseback riding.

Youth Opportunity


Cirrus House in Scottsbluff is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals with mental health challenges and substance use disorders achieve independence and wellness. Through programs like the Clubhouse Model, housing assistance, employment support, and outpatient therapy, Cirrus House provides a strengths-based, peer-supported environment that empowers people to live productive, fulfilling lives.
