Give the Gift of Warmth
Alliance- Give the gift of warmth this holiday season. Donations of new hats, gloves and mittens are being accepted to be included in the Christmas food baskets that are given to area families experiencing hunger. United Way of Western Nebraska serving Box Butte County coordinates the Box Butte County area Christmas food basket program in partnership with local churches, Alliance Ministerial Association and other non-profit organizations. Families needing a Christmas food basket are welcome to sign up at uwwn.org/foodbaskets or call United Way at 763-8031. Currently, there are over 200 families signed up to receive the food baskets including over 300 children. The goal is provide as many children as possible with a new set of gloves or mittens and a hat. If you would like to donate new items they may be dropped off at the United Way office at 723 Flack Ave in the tote outside the office door or taken to St. John’s at 2090 Emerson to be place under the tree of warmth.
