Twin City Roofing’s “Roof Raiser” Wrap-Up Event for United Way of Western Nebraska
Gering – Twin City Roofing will be hosting a “Roof Raiser” Wrap-Up fundraising event on Thursday October 8, 2020 to benefit United Way of Western Nebraska. The event will be held at Twin City Roofing (925 Country Club Rd, Gering) from 3:00 pm to 6:00pm.
Terry and Paula Schank, owners of the business, wanted to take the devastating hailstorms that hit the communities late last summer, and turn the devastation into something positive for our communities. Early last fall Twin City Roofing pledged to donate $100 to United Way of Western Nebraska from each roofing job they did from October 1st, 2019 until October 1st, 2020. As of September 1, 2020 they have donated $47,400 to United Way from this promotion.
They plan to do their final check presentation to United Way at 3:00pm during the event. $2 Pulled Pork Slider plates (includes sandwich, baked beans, potato salad and a soft drink) will be available to benefit United Way. United Way will be holding a raffle during the event, with Twin City Roofing donating prizes to include thermometers, rain gauges, coolers, and VISA gift cards.
With the added implications of the COVID-19 pandemic on families in our communities, the dollars raised will make an even bigger impact for so many local programs serving families in our communities who struggle to meet basic needs as well as provide more opportunities for United Way to carry out community impact projects focusing on food insecurity and homelessness in our communities.
