Education. Financial Stability. Health. The building blocks of a successful life. United Way of Western Nebraska works in western Nebraska focusing on those building blocks. All of our community impact work, non-profit partner agencies and special events are selected with a purpose.

Advancing the Common Good

We are advancing the common good through our community impact work and partnering with local non-profit agencies. Our community impact work includes Stuff the Bus, Day of Caring, Imagination Library, Poverty Task Forces and so much more! Visit our community impact initiatives page to learn more.

United Way of Western Nebraska partners with local non-profits that align with our mission. United Way provides grants to each of these non-profit partners (based on applications for funding and agency interviews) that is determined by the money raised during the campaign and the recommendation of community members who serve on the United Way Funds Distribution Committee. This process is done in three counties in Western Nebraska and ensure that donor dollars stay in the area they are donated. Once a non-profit receives United Way funding, they become a United Way partner agency and work cooperatively with United Way of Western Nebraska. Visit our partner agencies pages to learn more about our non-profit partners.

United Way special events such as the annual Duck Dash and Color Dash (to name a couple!) are all planned and coordinated to raise awareness for United Way and to raise funds in a fun way! Those funds are used to help United Way's mission and provide financial support to our partner agencies. All those ducks sold equate to truly helping the community and as a bonus you get a chance to win some great prizes!
