Ways to Give to United Way of Western Nebraska

 

A charitable gift through a will or trust (bequest gift)

Bequest giving is the simplest and most common charitable gift giving method. An individual (donor) notes in their will or trust, what property (ie: cash, stocks, bonds etc) is designated to United Way of Western Nebraska. A bequest can be a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, the balance or residue of your estate or a beneficiary designation of certain assets. 

A bequest is generally a revocable gift, meaning it can be changed or modified at any time. You can choose to designate that a bequest be used for a general or specific purpose and your estate may benefit from significant tax deductions.

Specific Bequest

A specific bequest involved making a gift of a specific asset or dollar amount the United Way of Western Nebraska.

Percentage Bequest

A percentage bequest involved leaving a specific percentage of your overall estate to United Way of Western Nebraska.

Residual Bequest

A residual bequest is made from the balance of an estate after the will or trust has been given away to each of the specific bequests.

A In Memory of, charitable gift may be set up through United Way of Western Nebraska for friends, family, colleagues and community members to donate in memory of an individual's life after their death. This is an option provided to an individual who would rather have condolences shared in the form of a legacy gift in leu of gifts or flowers to immediate family members. A fund may be set up through your selected funeral home, church, designated family member or stated in your will. 

In Memory of gifting is an excellent option for individuals who do not have a sizable estate but still want to leave a charitable legacy in their memory.
