United Way of Western Nebraska, founded in 1945, unites people of Western Nebraska to build a stronger, healthier and more compassionate community throughout Western Nebraska. UWWN serves the Western Nebraska panhandle with collaborative fundraising to support local nonprofit partners and United Way community impact work. UWWN leads in empowering children and youth, stabilizing families, and strengthening communities in the areas of health, education and financial stability through meaningful and lasting reform. UWWN identifies gaps in the community and works to fill those gaps through United Way community impact initiatives and work with local leaders. UWWN coordinates an annual fundraising campaign to provide financial grants to local nonprofit partners. UWWN seeks a Campaign and Community Impact Coordinator. This position is responsible for coordinating and organizing community impact initiatives and assists with the annual United Way campaign including special events under the direction of the UWWN Executive Director.
JOB DUTIES
- Work with the Executive Director to coordinate the annual United Way campaign, including but not limited to scheduling campaign presentations, coordinating Loaned Executives and providing campaign support as needed
- Solicit support opportunities including but not limited to businesses, individual donations and other opportunities as directed
- Support the planning and execution of United Way Special Events which requires nontraditional hours on occasion
- Assist in coordinating United Way Community Impact Events (Stuff the Bus, Fighting Hunger in our Communities, etc.)
- Schedule and assist with campaign presentations
- Build new donor relationships while fostering existing ones through in person communication, email, phone, etc.
- Develop strong collaborative relationships in the community
- Attend meetings online and in-person as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Experience Requirements
- Bachelors Degree
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
- Works well with the public
- Strong organizational skills and highly skilled in accuracy
- Desire to work in a community oriented non-profit and be an integral part of the United Way of Western Nebraska team
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong commitment to Western Nebraska
Preferred Knowledge & Skill Qualifications
- Special events planning and execution
- Marketing knowledge & experience with various marketing platforms
- Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with diverse groups of people
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- •This position requires the manual dexterity sufficient to operate phones, computers, and other office equipment, and the ability to sit and to use a computer for significant periods of time.
- This person must speak clearly using the English language to accurately convey information.
- Generally good working conditions with little or no exposure to extremes in noises, temperature.
- Little or no safety or health hazards.
- Minimal lifting or climbing.
- Work performed in an office setting as applicable determined by activities.
- Limited travel
- Position is based in the Scottsbluff United Way office.
COMPENSATION
Salary commensurate with skills and experience. Benefits include 11 paid holidays, generous PTO, 3% retirement match, and health insurance stipend.
